Nanowhaaat??? I know, it sounds like nonsense. But stay with me, it’s going to be really fun.
NaNoWriMo is short hand for National Novel Writing Month.
It’s a website, a community, a wildly ambitious writing event – and so much more!
Every November, hundreds of thousands of people from around the globe set out to write an entire 50,000+ word novel in just 30 days. And many succeed!
This year, the Pomfret Library wants to help. We have signed up to be a “Come Write In” location, giving local writers a calm, quiet place to come get their word count up, distraction free. Monday evenings in November, we will be ready and waiting with free coffee, wifi, and that library trademark – quiet.
Overwhelmed at the thought of jumping into your first (or 7th) NaNoWriMo? Us too! Which is why we’re compiling helpful resources for coming up with a plot, developing characters, world building, and organizing your time. Please join us Monday October 21st at 6pm for a prepping session you won’t want to miss.
