Summer Reading 2019

  • Sign up at the library and get your reading log. For all ages – both independent readers and family readers.
  • Track the time you spend reading
  • Earn $1 Book Buck for each hour, plus Bonus Book Bucks for challenges like attending library events or playing Book Bingo

Stellar Library Events!

Thu, June 20th 11 am:  Roger Williams Zoomobile The Zoomobile is coming and they’re bringing critters who spend their lives out under the stars. See and learn about nocturnal animals right here in the library!

Thu, June 27th 1pm:  Asteroid Destroyed! Adventure Room There is an asteroid headed right for earth, we need your help to stop it! Solve the puzzles and find clues to locate the coordinates for the
projected path and blast the asteroid out of the sky.

Thu, July 11th 1pm: Mr. Magic will enchant you with his wildly popular performance.  A classic magic show with modern twists for the whole family

Thu, July 18th 1pm: Play with your food: Meteorite Party and Galaxy Cupcake Wars. A yummy day where we will unwrap a special candy meteor and decorate delicious outer space cupcakes

Thu, August 1st 1pm: Moon Phases Bring a t-shirt in your favorite summer style to paint and learn about the phases of the moon and its effects on the Earth.

Sat, August 3rd 10:30-1:30pm: Moon Phase Second Chance Another chance to create a moon phase t-shirt and learn about our beautiful Moon.  This is an all-ages drop-in any time session.

Thu, August 8th 1pm: Cosmic Juggler Space exploration taught through the art of juggling.  Michael Menes will  be here to encourage kids to jump into Summer Reading

Summer Story Times

International Space Station Readings, Tuesdays @ 10:30 AM

Actual astronauts  up on the ISS will be reading some out-of-this world books for us.
Afterwards, we’ll  have an intergalactic craft or game:

July 2nd: Noodle Rocket Flingers
July 16th: Solar prints
July 23rd: Astronaut training
July 30th: Edible constellations
August 6th: Alien slime

Story Time, Thursdays at 10:30am

June 27th—August 8th.  Join us for some stellar tales! The stories and activities will be geared for Toddlers & Pre-k (All the kiddos are welcome though!)

1000 Books Before Kindergarten

Sign up for this ongoing program (not just for summer)! Register your child (birth- age 5), track your reading, and your child can pick a fun prize for every 100 books read. Details here
